Kids need a lot of stuff!
Despite our best efforts to declutter our lives before we hit the road, even carrying just the bare essentials can be tricky sometimes. That’s when we found out about an amazing collapsible cart on the market here in Australia and just had to test it out for ourselves.
Introducing the Buddy Wagon
The Buddy Wagon is a great looking and simply designed portable cart – made of durable, tough and quality materials. Created, made and distributed by Aussies – it was created with the outdoor Australian lifestyle in mind. Read on for our favourite features and what we loved about our Buddy….
In Control
The Buddy Wagon has four multi-directional wheels making it easy to navigate around corners and obstacles (it drives much easier than any pram we’ve ever tried!) We’ve used it on different terrains and can confirm it drives great on road, grass, dirt, rocks and sand – making it just as suitable for a day at the beach as bringing home the grocery shop.

How we travelled before our Buddy!
Get a Grip
Buddy has a telescopic handle that is adjustable for different drivers. We’ve used carts in the past and hubby has always been limited in the amount of time he can pull – he has trouble with back pain and has always found the handles too short for him to comfortably control for any length of time. He loved our Buddy as he didn’t have to change his posture or walking style to pull it along – meaning more pulling time for dad and more strolling time for mum!

Perfect for any size driver!
Burly Buddy
We’ve seen a few different wagons out there and have noticed that there are a lot of flimsy carts available – which would be fine for maybe a bit of light market shopping or taking the lazy dog for a walk – but for a family trip to the beach or a big day festival you’ll definitely need a bit more crunch to your cart. The Buddy Wagon is made of strong, sturdy materials and can hold up to 70kgs. On Australia Day we headed to the party with a full esky, swim gear, toys, food, blankets, towels and a tired toddler all loaded in to our Buddy – and we just sailed along!
Portable Packing
We live in a bus – 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog living in a space the size of an average person’s spare room, so storage is a big issue for us! One of the best things about the Buddy Wagon is that it packs down really easily to just 35cm x 20cm x 74cm – making it incredibly compact and simple to store.
You can see a video of how compact the Buddy Wagon is and how easy it packs up and down below
Multi-Tasking
I’ve said before how I love products that serve more than one purpose – it saves so much space and time to have one thing for many uses and our Buddy ticks all the boxes. We’ve used it for picnics, parties, beach days and grocery shopping. We got some casual work at our last stop delivering brochures and our Buddy was the best workmate to carry everything for us. The boys are getting a bit older now and are almost too big for a pushchair but their legs are still too little for too much walking. When they get tired they just jump in with all the gear. Our 2 year old has also had a lie down in our Buddy Wagon when he missed his day nap – a towel over the top and he had his own chill out den!
