The Ultimate Aussie Family Camping Checklist

February 24, 2018 by Bryony @ Coasting Australia 8 Comments

We’ve been on the road for road for almost 2 years now and I still rely on our family camping checklist to stay organised!

Kids eating dinner at a campground - the ultimate family camping checklist

Traveling anywhere with kids in tow adds a fair bit of extra packing – after making sure that favourite toys, blankets and books are in the car it can be easy to feel exhausted already and forget some of the essentials.

That’s where our ultimate family camping checklist comes to the rescue – we’ve tailored it for our own unique Australian needs too including things like mozzie spray, snake bite kits and of course stubby coolers!

The Ultimate Aussie Family Camping Checklist

Don’t Forget the Snorkel!

The list is organised into categories so you can be sure you’ve packed everything you’ll need for comfy sleeping, good eating, fun swimming, smart safety and more.

There’s even room for you to add your own items so you can personalise the list to your needs. We travel with our dog Bobby so we use this section to add all her gear – dog food, blanket, lead and toys.

We’ve chatted to expert campers, full time travellers and weekend wanderers to compile the list and there are over 100 must have items included – don’t leave home without it!

I simply love this list and will surely use it during our next camping trip (even though it won’t be Australia…)

We got them at Kmart. They were great but a goat decided to eat the canvas seat bit so they didn’t last long! Did you see our review on the Chibebe Bean Bags? They’ve been great for travelling.
