We’ve been on the road for road for almost 2 years now and I still rely on our family camping checklist to stay organised!
Traveling anywhere with kids in tow adds a fair bit of extra packing – after making sure that favourite toys, blankets and books are in the car it can be easy to feel exhausted already and forget some of the essentials.
That’s where our ultimate family camping checklist comes to the rescue – we’ve tailored it for our own unique Australian needs too including things like mozzie spray, snake bite kits and of course stubby coolers!

Don’t Forget the Snorkel!
The list is organised into categories so you can be sure you’ve packed everything you’ll need for comfy sleeping, good eating, fun swimming, smart safety and more.
There’s even room for you to add your own items so you can personalise the list to your needs. We travel with our dog Bobby so we use this section to add all her gear – dog food, blanket, lead and toys.
We’ve chatted to expert campers, full time travellers and weekend wanderers to compile the list and there are over 100 must have items included – don’t leave home without it!
The Ultimate Aussie Family Camping Checklist
The list is designed in A4 size to be printed, laminated and used again and again.
If you’d like the full-size printable list emailed straight to your inbox simply subscribe to our newsletter below and you’ll have the ultimate Aussie family camping checklist before you can say ‘who packed the toilet roll!”

Happy camping!
See you on the road!
I simply love this list and will surely use it during our next camping trip (even though it won’t be Australia…)
It’ll be fun to backpack through Australia! Can’t wait to see more of your adventures.
What an amazing adventure you are having! Love this checklist, it’s a great way to be prepared for anything!
This looks so fun! A checklist is a great idea. In all the excitement and frenzy its too easy to forget something!
This is such a great list! Hope yo guys had fun!
My family has never been camping. We would definitely need this list. My husband always over packs
Where did you purchase the kid’s chairs? Those look amazing!
We got them at Kmart. They were great but a goat decided to eat the canvas seat bit so they didn’t last long! Did you see our review on the Chibebe Bean Bags? They’ve been great for travelling.
