We’ve been on the road for 6 weeks now (it’s gone by in a flash and my lofty goals of a weekly trip update post have disappeared just as quickly!)
Australia has so many things to see and do it can be overwhelming at times to decide where to go next or what to add to our activity list. Especially when travelling with kids – who have their own set of wants and needs and are not suited to every attraction out there.
What we’ve noticed so far is that some of the best days we’ve had have been the simplest days – finding a great swimming hole, spotting native wildlife or discovering a scenic picnic spot – but these places are sometimes the least advertised and the hardest to find.

Exploring rockpools
We’ve discovered some fabulous spots along the way and most have been recommended by friends or helpful locals – and it made us realise that there was an opportunity to connect like minded families online in a space where we could share our favourite spots around the country – whether it be in our local neighbourhood or in our fave family holiday spot.
So if you’re a lover of adventure and family fun in Australia and would like to share your best spots – whether it be a play park or a bush walk, or learn about some new places to visit – then head over to our group page on Facebook and join in the fun!
We’ve got a really amazing (ahem!) giveaway for our first goal too – the more members the more local info we’ll get – when we reach 500 we’ll be buying someone an ice cream! Yes you heard that right….
If we’re in your neighbourhood when this happens we’ll happily take you out for a sundae – but if you’re further afield or don’t fancy hanging out with us (like that would ever happen!) we’ll send you a voucher to your local ice creamery.
What could be better – a frozen treat in the middle of Winter ❄️ (we may or may not also need a new creative team)
See you all there!
I so regret not doing this with my kids when they were young. That said,
Lol!!! I’d love to have an ice cream with you guys. Sounds like you’ve been having heaps of fun. I know what you mean about kids having different ideas on what they want to do when you’re traveling 🙂 Keeps life interesting. How often do you get an ‘are we there yet?’.
